As a Mortgage Advisor, you will work directly with prospective homebuyers, existing homeowners, and referral partners to identify suitable mortgage solutions. You will educate clients on available loan products, explain financing options, and guide applicants through every stage of the mortgage process—from application through closing—while delivering a high level of service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand mortgage, refinancing, and home financing needs.
  • Analyze financial information, credit profiles, income, assets, and supporting documents to determine loan eligibility.
  • Recommend appropriate mortgage products and financing solutions based on client goals and financial qualifications.
  • Guide applicants through the mortgage application, approval, and closing process.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate professionals, builders, and referral partners.
  • Review loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with lending standards.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable lending regulations, internal policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor loan progress and provide timely updates to clients and relevant stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Meet individual sales goals, pipeline targets, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Stay informed about mortgage products, interest rates, housing market conditions, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in mortgage lending, banking, sales, or financial services preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and clearly explain mortgage options and lending terms.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and consultative sales abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage origination or loan processing systems.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NMLS licensing or willingness to obtain required licensing.
  • Mortgage sales or home lending experience.
  • Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loan programs.
  • Financial planning, banking, or consumer lending experience.
  • Strong networking, referral development, and business generation skills.
